  • Tim Vander Kooi

    Chair

    Tim has worked as an IT Professional in the SMB market for over a decade. Specializing in Microsoft products and building complete solutions from the many options available. He enjoys finding new ways to solve common problems using tools that Microsoft makes available and then sharing those solutions with other Professionals in my community. He has also worked with, and attended, user groups for over 10 years, having helped revive and/or start a number of groups though the years.​

  • Russell Clements

    Past Chair​

    Russell has enjoyed cofounding and working with the Dallas Fort Worth Small Business Partner Group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dfw-sbs since its inception in 2003. He's served as Secretary, Treasurer and President. The group has worked with Culminis since their founding. Russell was awarded Level 5 status with Culminis and is now serving as the Regional Chair for North America on the newly reconstituted volunteer-based Culminis.

    He also attends meetings of the DFW-SharePoint User's Group, although he hasn't been as involved with the leadership of that group as he would like; he enjoys sitting through presentations that he didn't have to coordinate. :)

    In addition to duties as Systems Administrator for a small educational institution, Russell has his own business working to meet the IT needs of small business owners - a special passion since both he and his wife own their own businesses.​

  • Barry Sellers

    Vice-Chair

    Barry Sellers has served as a member of the NPA Board of Directors for 9 years for the Network Professional Association (NPA) and most recently as Treasurer/CFO. During his tenure, he has championed, revamped, documented and implemented the NPA Certified Network Professional Certification and is currently working on the Associate Certified Network Professional Certification that focuses on professionalism and ethics, which will be a requirement for the Certified Network Professional Certification. He has held all of the officer positions on the Board of Directors including Chairman over that time. Prior to his time on the Board of Directors, he was the founder and president of the Shreveport Chapter of the Network Professional Association (1993 -1995). He served as the head judge for the Network Professional Association Awards for Professionalism (2002 - 2008). He was awarded the Distinguished Fellow of the Network Professional Association (DFNPA) in 2005. Barry has been an invited member of the Network Computing Magazine editorial advisory board since 2004. He has served as a Judge and Presenter for the Best of Networld + Interop; contest (2005 - 2008).

    Barry holds the following certifications:

    Certified Network Professional (CNP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Master Certified Netware Engineer (MCNE), Enterprise Certified Netware Engineer (ECNE), Certified Netware Engineer (CNE) Certified Netware Administrator (CNA), IBM Certified Warp Server Instructor (CWSI), IBM Certified Lan Server Instructor (CLSI), IBM Certified Warp Server Engineer (CWSE), IBM Certified Lan Server Engineer (CLSE), ITIL Essentials Certificate (ITIL), IT Project + Certification, Network + Certification and A+ Certification. He has a Master of Science Degree in Computer Systems Technology from Louisiana State University Shreveport and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Louisiana State University. Barry's community involvement has been with the following institutions: St Andrews School - IT committee Member, Architected deployed new infrastructure; St Joseph&rsquo's Villa; upgraded all of the workstations to XP; Big Brothers, Big Sisters - Consulting work on the infrastructure upgrade; Capital One Community Program - Consultant and Volunteer; Greater Richmond YMCA - Consultant and Volunteer; Shreveport Pro Bono Project - Network Consultant and Volunteer; Caddo Magnet High School - Internet and Computer Education Committees; Arthur Circle Elementary School PTA - President, Computer Committee Chairman; Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity (LSU) - Vice-president, Founding Member; LSU Service Council - Founding Member; Eagle Scout. He is currently working at Capital One Financial Services in Richmond Virginia as the Enterprise Infrastructure Architect (1997 - today). Prior to that he was the Network Coordinator for Louisiana State University Medical Center (1992 - 1997).

    Emily is the Publicity/User Group Program Coordinator for Pearson Education representing technology publishers Addison-Wesley Professional, Cisco Press, Exam Cram, IBM Press, Prentice Hall Professional, QUE, and Sams. The Pearson Education User Group Program supports chapter members of professional organizations –like Culminis, INETA, PASS, and CIPTUG – as well as other independent, non-profit technology groups. Emily helps connect end-users with the latest content and information available for IT Pros and Developers, helping members to be active voices in their respective IT communities.

  • ​Harvey Schoenman

    After a 41-year career in technology, the last 35 years in Information Technology, Harvey retired in 2006. Harvey spent his last 15 years working for PNC Financial in a number of management positions and retired as a Vice President and Technology Support Manager. Prior to that Harvey worked for First Federal of Pittsburgh where he developed a keen interest in microcomputer technology; early versions of today's PCs. He also worked 13 years for Financial Accounting Services (now FiServ) where he managed Systems & Programming, System Planning and Tech Support on mainframes and mini-computers. His working career previously included over 7 years with Burroughs Corp (now Unisys) as a System Support Representative with clients throughout the U.S.

    Harvey is very active in the Association for Information Technology Professionals (AITP) serving on the local and regional boards and on the AITP Culminis & UGSS support team.
